Ease AI

About

One person, and that is deliberate.

Ease AI is Adam Berube, working from Burlington, Ontario. When you send an enquiry it reaches me, not an account manager. When something breaks at an awkward moment, you are not filing a ticket.

Background

Operations first, software second.

Most of my career was spent running things rather than building them — retail operations at a national scale, managing teams of a hundred and fifty, carrying a sales budget in the tens of millions, then running operations for a recruitment business across two countries.

That matters more than it sounds. The reason automation projects fail is almost never the technology. It is that nobody wrote down how the work actually happens, as opposed to how the process document says it happens. Having been the person responsible for the difference, I know where to look.

I now build and ship software for a living, and Ease AI is where I do that for businesses outside my day job. I do not have a computer science degree. What I have is twenty years of watching good operations get strangled by manual process, and the ability to build the fix.

How I work

Four commitments, and you can hold me to them.

01

The price is the price

Quoted before work starts, in writing. If scope genuinely changes we agree that explicitly. No discovery phase that bills for a quarter before anything gets built.
02

I will tell you not to buy

Roughly a third of first conversations end with a recommendation to do nothing, or to fix something that is not an AI problem. That is a legitimate outcome and it costs you nothing.
03

Nothing invented

No fabricated case studies, no statistics without a source, no promised percentage improvement before I have seen your process. If a number appears on this site you can trace where it came from.
04

You own what I build

The documentation, the runbook, the diagnostic. If you take it elsewhere afterwards, that is a legitimate outcome too. Support is month-to-month, never a lock-in that outlives its usefulness.

The limits

What a one-person firm cannot do.

I can take on a limited number of projects at once, so there is sometimes a wait. I am not the right choice for a twenty-four-seven mission-critical system that needs an on-call rota, or for a multi-year enterprise transformation with a steering committee.

If that is what you need, I will say so early and, where I can, point you somewhere better. It is a cheaper conversation now than six weeks in.
